Now the story of how we became the big tractor family in Glenbeaulah, WI. Well it all stated with one tractor that Jerry bought a 1930 Case Model L at Carl Witkowski's huge antique auction in Fond du Lac, WI. Jerry saw the Case L tractor there, and he turned to John and said, "This tractor is going home with us TODAY." Before John could say anything Jerry started bidding on the tractor. Which the two other guys who were bidding on it stopped because all four of them were members of the same threshing association. So the twins brought home the first Case L tractor. Then they were telling a guy about their dad owning a Case L tractor but it was sold, the guy said "I know where that tractor is" so the twins searched for their dad's case for about five years. They even went to the farm of the man who had bought the Case 43 years earlier but he had sold it to another man and didn't know anything about it. Then five years later at the Chilton Antique Steam Show showing Jerry's three Case VACs and their Case L. Then the unexpected happened the guy who walked away from them at the Witkowsik's auction (Ken G.) and told them that their dad's tractor was in Poy Sippi, WI. Five months later, when they went to Baraboo, WI, for an antique show, they drove about an hour and a half to Poy Sippi to continue their search. They stop at a local restaurant and inquired about their father's tractor then they were sent to a local feed mill where a man sent them to the home of Gary K. not far down the road from the feed mill and when they described the tractor to Gary, he said "Well, I suppose I have to show you the L Case I have. It's around back of my house in a shed." he opened the shed door and low and behold there it was the twin's dad's tractor, tears came to their eyes. They knew it was their dad's because it still had the 1936 Chrysler steer knuckles welded on a pipe and attached to the steering rods on the front of the tractor because the pins had worn out. It had a road gear, which let it go 24 mph in third gear. A year later, the Schwind Case was hauled back to the family farm. Now John and Jerry doubled their interest in Case tractors. Now we have two 1930 Case Model L tractors, two 1938 Case Model C tractors, two 1938 Model RC tractors and two 1936 Case Model CC tractors and now in commission 1938 Case Model R. So keep in mind, The Twins do Twins.
